Fish Appetizer

When hosting a large meal, writing down the menu helps to get a realistic picture of the task ahead.  It may help to consider:

  • Dietary restrictions

  • Serving style – buffet, plated, formal, casual etc. If formal, seating arrangements.

  • Courses; Appetizers, Mains, Salads, Side Dishes, Desserts & Drinks

  • Availability of ingredients, choosing seasonal vegetables, for example

  • Preparation times. Can you cook ahead & freeze or safely store some dishes?

  • Cooking times - remember to factor in thawing time & that cooking multiple dishes in an oven at the same time can slow the cooking process.

If the budget allows, you can always have it catered and there is no harm in asking and accepting offers of help!
