When developing a job description, whether the organization is considering adding a new position or filling an existing role, it is important to consider how the role adds value to the organization.  As an HR Professional I have worked with many organizations in drafting Job Descriptions and have found that this process can lead to organizational soul searching in grappling with the ultimate reason a job exists. Once these fundamental questions have been addressed, the process of crafting a Competency Based Job Description that clearly reflects the position begins.
